We’re so glad you found us online, and we hope you will come worship with us Hillyer Memorial Christian Church so we have the opportunity to welcome you personally. Here’s what you might expect on a typical Sunday morning:
worship at 11 AM
Our 11:00 a.m. service follows a traditional liturgy, with music led by organ and choir, and the pastors wear robes and speak from the pulpit. In rhythm with these ancient worship practices, we connect to God and one another through music, scripture, sermon, and prayer. Our worship bulletin includes helpful information to guide you through the service.
location & Parking
Hillyer is located on the corner of Hillsborough and St. Mary’s Streets in the historic Glenwood South neighborhood in the heart of Raleigh. If you are familiar with the area, we are just west of the Char Grill and just east of Saint Mary’s School on Hillsborough Street.
Parking is available on Sunday mornings in the Williams/Cross office building lot at the northwest corner of Hillsborough Street and Boylan Avenue. Parking for disabled persons or those requiring easier access into the church may be found in our lot at the northeast corner of Hillsborough Street and St. Mary’s Street. In addition, four parking spaces in this lot have been reserved for visitors. Parking is allowed on Sunday morning in the No Parking and Bus Zones on St. Mary’s Street and Hillsborough Street. This includes the space directly in front of the church.
CHILDREN
Children of all ages are welcome to participate with you in either of our morning worship services, but there are other options available, too.
Childcare for infants & toddlers is available for all or part of each service. Nurseries are located on the second floor behind the sanctuary. Each nursery room is staffed by trained attendants and experienced volunteers who will make sure that your child’s stay is a safe and pleasant experience. Of course, any of our greeters would love to walk you to the nursery whenever you are ready.
During our 11 a.m. service, children in kindergarten through second grade are encouraged to participate in Children’s Church, a special worship and education experience designed just for them. They may leave the sanctuary for Children’s Church following the Children’s Moment, and may be picked up after worship in the children’s area on the third floor.
For children who choose to stay in the sanctuary during either service, Worship Toolboxes with activity sheets, crayons, children’s bulletins, and other items are available by the sanctuary doors.
